The alpine hut in winter
The slopes are calling!
Our brand-new Almhaus is located in the midst of the magnificent mountain landscape of the beautiful Lachtal valley in Styria. At 1,600 m above sea level, near the village of Schönberg-Lachtal, you will find everything your holiday heart desires. The equipment is top and offers every comfort for up to 8 people! 2 car parking spaces right next to the house guarantee a comfortable arrival - of course, the access road is cleared in winter. In the snow-assuredwinter sports area of Lachtal There are 2 modern 6-seater chairlifts and 8 T-bar lifts that take you to 35 km of ski slopes and 10 km of ski routes.
The best thing: You live directly on the piste! Both a chairlift and a T-bar lift are only 50 m away from your alpine hut. It couldn't be more convenient! Get out of the hut, strap on your skis and simply start boarding!
We recommend a four-wheel drive or snow chains for perfect access to the hut!
THE REGION
Lachtal
The Lachtal in the green heart of Styria fascinates its guests both in summer and winter with its breathtaking landscape. The award-winning family holiday area is easily accessible and only an hour's drive from Graz or two hours from Vienna!
WINTER
North of the idyllically situated municipality of Schönberg-Lachtal lies the popular winter sports area of Lachtal. On the approximately 150 hectare ski area, winter sports enthusiasts will find 35 km of perfectly groomed blue, red and black slopes. Touring enthusiasts also get their money's worth with 10 km of ski routes. Due to its high alpine altitude of 1,650 m to 2,222 m, the Lachtal is one of the most snow-sure skiing areas in Styria. Here they also show a big heart for children - „Kinderlachtal“ ensures loud children's laughter with a magic carpet, teddy rope lift, mini slalom, colourful figure course, wave run and treasure hunt. By the way: children up to 6 years of age ski for free on all lifts when accompanied by their parents. The Lachtal offers double skiing pleasure in tandem with the Kreischberg ski region. With the season or multi-day ticket you can enjoy two of the most popular ski mountains in Styria at no extra charge. The ultimate winter fun!
SUMMER
Why not visit the alpine hut in Lachtal in summer and spend a relaxing holiday in the middle of nature! At 1700 m above sea level and in a prime sunny location, the self-catering hut is an ideal retreat from the hectic everyday life in the city. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful view of the Lachtal or hike through the surrounding mountains. Our hut is an ideal starting point for many family-friendly hikes in beautiful and untouched nature to various alpine huts such as the Klosterneuburgerhütte or the Kleinlachtalhütte. You can easily reach our hut by car.

ADVENTURE HIKING TRAIL LACHTAL

New opening on 10 July 2021!
The "Wildes Lachtal" circular adventure trail is an exciting circular trail for the whole family. The approx. 4 km long trail runs at an altitude of between 1600 and 1700 metres above sea level and connects a total of 16 adventure stations.
OUTDOOR POOL OBERWÖLZ
Our newly designed swimming pool, idyllically situated on the edge of the forest, offers children lots of fun at the:
- Splashing around in the children's pool
- Swimming in the sports pool
- Water slides
- Playing in the children's adventure world and in the water ditch, as well as
- jumping from the diving tower.
For adults, after swimming in the sports pool, the large sunbathing areas provide an inviting swim in the sun or a relaxing lie in the shade of the trees. Furthermore, our pool restaurant offers you first-class catering during your bathing excursion.

Hiking around Oberwölz
In spring, summer and autumn, the Wölzertal and the side mountain troughs as well as the Lachtal are ideal hiking areas.
Most of the mountain peaks are easy to reach and the reward for the climb is a panoramic view of the Lower Tauern mountains up to Dachstein in the north, the High Tatras and the Dolomites in the south.

In Spielberg you will not only find a breathtaking region with beautiful nature. Spielberg is a real adventure park with the Red Bull Ring at its centre.
Thermal Spa Fohnsdorf
In just 35 minutes, you can reach the Therme Fohnsdorf spa, which offers activities for the little ones and relaxation in the sauna area for adults.
